CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Last updated 15th June 2020.
Please note: Following the latest government announcement we are preparing the branches to reopen on the 1st July 2020.

We Will Be Open on the 1st July 2020

At EyeStyle Centre, we are committed to meeting your essential eye health needs throughout the current COVID-19 pandemic. We are able to provide essential care, should you require it. Essential care includes concerns or anxiety about your eye health, your glasses, contact lenses and/or current prescription, or you require new glasses or sunglasses.

Please note: An optometrist will contact you by phone prior to your chosen appointment time to establish whether a face-to-face appointment is clinically necessary and to help you understand what to expect when you visit us in practice.

We are still here for you.
We are doing everything we can to support our patients and staff in this unprecedented time. We appreciate your co-operation and patience.

Please note

Due to high demand and social distancing requirements, all appointment will be triaged, either by phone or email, so you will be contacted by one of our opticians prior your appointment.

By requesting an appointment, you agree to comply with all safety measures in place in the practice. These measures are in place to protect the wellbeing of our staff and our patients.

No one is permitted to attend a face-to-face appointment if you or someone you have been in contact with has had COVID-19 symptoms within the last 14 days.

If you suspect an eye emergency, for example experiencing new or changes in floaters in your vision, sudden eye pain, sudden loss of sight or flashing lights in your vision, please call the Eye Unit at your nearest hospital, or call NHS 111 (if out of hours)

CONTACT LENS WEARERS

We want to offer some guidance and reassurance on what's best to do when it comes to ordering and applying your contact lenses for the coming weeks.

If your continuous supply of contact lenses is already processed with home delivery and paid for via direct debit, you don’t need to take any action, this will also continue as normal.

Before we closed our stores 23rd March 2020 we changed all our Direct Debit patients on automatic shipment to home delivery so you will stll get your contact lenses.

There is currently no evidence to suggest any correlation between the usage of contact lenses and the spread of COVID-19 or a Coronavirus infection related to contact lens use.

To help maintain healthy contact lens wear, all contact lenses wearers should follow correct lens wear and care instructions, as prescribed by your EyeStyle Centre Contact Lens Practitioner. These include following good hygiene practices. We strongly recommended you do not wear contact lenses when generally unwell, for example when you have a cold or flu, and wear your spectacles until you are fully recovered.

Good hygiene is a must when handling your contact lenses, even more so with the current circumstances. Always make sure you wash your hands for 20 seconds and dry them thoroughly with a towel when:

Handling contact lenses and lens cases
Applying contact lenses (even if the lens is new and directly from the packaging)
Removing your contact lenses

It's important to also remember not to touch your face with unwashed hands.
